APRIL 5-11TH DISTRICT CONVENTION
The 11th District Convention will be held at Tuscola High School on Saturday, April 14, 2012, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. and the convention starting at 11 a.m. Tuscola High School is located 564 Tuscola School Road, Waynesville, NC 28786. Directions are: From Asheville, take I-40 west, to Exit 27. Take this exit. This will put you on U.S. Highway 19/23/74, which you take to Exit 104. Take this exit and veer to the right. Go under the bridge and take a left at the light on Hospital Drive. Tuscola School Road will then be the first road on the right. Directional signs will be present near the High School.

From the Western Counties, take U.S. Highway 19/23/74 to Exit 104. Take this exit. Turn left at the end of the ramp (at the redlight). (There are two left turn lanes on the ramp. It will be much easier if you are in the left turn lane which is farthest from the curb.) After you turn right onto U.S. BR 23 / NC 209, you will then make a near immediate right on Hospital Drive (at the redlight). Once on Hospital Drive, Tuscola School Road will be the first road on the right. Directional signs will be present near the High School. Persons planning to come to the convention are asked to RSVP their names and county to 11thdistrictconvention@gmail.com. If you don't have e-mail, you may call 828-488-2842 and leave a message. This will speed your registration when you arrive. There will no fee for the convention, although a suggested donation of $5.00 per person attending will be accepted.

Immediately after the Convention, the 11th District Republican Party will host a Luncheon in the High School Cafeteria. It will be catered by K & B Catering, which also provided the delicious prime rib dinner at last year's Golden Elephant Banquet. Our menu will be barbeque pork, baked beans, cole slaw, bread, drinks and dessert. The cost of the Luncheon will be $15.00 per person, and can be paid at the door. However, if you plan to attend, we again ask that you RSVP to 11thdistrictconvention@gmail.com to let us know that you plan to stay for lunch. Again, if you don't have e-mail, you can leave a message at 828-488-2842. We need this additional information so we can get an accurate count for the caterer.

This year's Convention will focus on our exciting array of candidates for the 11th District Congressional seat. At the Convention, you will have an opportunity to meet candidates for both Federal and State Offices and ask them your questions.

Remember, the Republican Primary is only weeks away and this may be your last chance to talk to the candidates in person. After the Primary, we must be UNITED in our election efforts. Again, Pre-Registration is not required, although we ask that you RSVP. We suggest that you arrive early to facilitate the registration process.

If you have any questions, please send them to 11thdistrictconvention@gmail.com
Remember, when you attend, please make checks payable to 11th District Republican Party. No Corporate or Business Checks please.

MIKE CLAMPITT MEET AND GREET - APRIL 28TH, 4PM TO 7PM
Mike Clampitt, Republican candidate for the 119th NC House of Representatives announced today of a "Meet and Greet" to be held at the Herren House, 94 East Street, Waynesville, NC on Saturday, April 28th, 4 pm -7 pm.

This event hosted by Clampitt is open to the public at no charge. The informal gathering is an opportunity for citizens of the House District 119 to come and meet Mike Clampitt, as well as other candidates for the 118th NC House, and candidates for the 11th Congressional who have also been invited.

District 119 is composed of Jackson Co, Swain Co. and 11 precincts in Haywood Co. Clampitt grew up in Swain Co. and retired after 28 years as Fire Captain with the Charlotte Fire Department in 2004, then returned to his hometown of Bryson City.

Candidate Clampitt does not have a primary, but will face an opponent in the general election in November. "We need to have common sense return to government, which seems to be illusive these days", Clampitt said. " An example is the wildfire spending that the Democrats have had in the past years. If you don't have it, you can't spend it. Tax dollars are to be spent, frugally and wisely", as Clampitt reported.

Referring to the catch phrase used to teach individuals of what to do when their clothes catch on fire, "STOP-DROP-ROLL". Clampitt says, "STOP-the spending, DROP the LIES, and ROLL back regulations and taxes"."

Even with all the attention from the national Democrats, North Carolina features the nation's premiere gubernatorial contest and has the opportunity to pick up four congressional seats. Our Convention is the place to be to learn, socialize, and train with thousands of other Republicans. Take the opportunity to register for convention, come hear our special guests and learn how to make your county Republican organization better so we can make history!
